Apna Heritage Archive
Anand Chhabra has curated an exhibition from the 2000 image archive dating from 1960 to 1989. These rarely seen photographs give an insight into family life, customs and integration into life in the UK.
For Blast! Anand will include new photographs collected from the Punjabi community in West Bromwich. Please note this exhibition is open for general viewing on the 7th June.
This commission is part of the Forge Artist Open Call Programme which invited 12 West Midlands artists and/or curators to make new bodies of work for the Blast! Festival and take part in a mentorship programme.

Anand Chhabra is a photographer and has recently worked on exhibitions that focus on communities who have a lack of representation or engagement in the arts. Anand was recently shortlisted for his personal work for ‘Photography in Collaboration: Migration and Religion in 2018’ hosted by Magnum Foundation.
