ABOUT Project
Caravan Camera
Brendan Barry transforms things into cameras - from a lift or an empty shop, to a pineapple or old log! He is interested in challenging our understanding of what a camera is, what it can do and how one can be constructed. He takes the whole notion of what a camera might be, unpicks these preconceptions and creates new ways of inviting an audience into having a transformative experience in a space. At Blast! Festival, Brendan will be making portraits in collaboration with participants from various local communities in his Caravan Camera, a giant, portable camera with a built-in darkroom.
